Derek T. Marshall is a business and estate planning attorney that helps individuals, families and businesses plan for the future and address complex legal needs. Derek counsels and helps individuals and families, whether their estates are large or small, properly plan for the future through developing personalized estate plans using various estate planning instruments. Derek has built strong relationships with other professionals in the community and works collaboratively with the clients’ other professional advisors (investment/financial advisors, CPAs/tax advisors, and other attorneys) to develop complete plans that prepare the clients for the future.
Derek also serves as outside general counsel to various small to mid-size businesses and helps them navigate today’s business climate, including: business formation and planning, employment and independent contractor contracts, leases, real estate matters, financing, business and asset sales and acquisitions.
Derek enjoys assisting and advising in the formation of non-profit organizations (501(c)3), including completion of necessary IRS and state applications to obtain tax-exempt status.
